RALLY

Rally is one of the newest of obedience related sporting events.   Rally involves the performance of obedience skills under the direction of a course designed by a judge.   All dogs competing in rally must perform the stations along the course and are judged according to accuracy and speed (time).    What makes rally a unique obedience style event is the unlimited communication between handler and dog.    Rally allows handlers to use both verbal cues and physical signals  to convey to their dog each skill that needs to be performed.   Handlers are also encouraged to praise their dogs throughout the performance.    In sanctioned rally competitions handlers are given a course map and also given the opportunity to walk the courses without their dogs to familiarize themselves with the course flow and behaviors that will be required of their dogs.    At its novice or basic level the dogs perform skills on leash and must demonstrate heeling, sits, downs, stays, stands, recalls and more.   At the advanced levels dogs perform with the handler off lead and demonstrate more complex skills including jumps and more intricate heeling maneuvers.      Rally training is perfect for those that have finished basic obedience training on their dog and would like to take those skills and refine them to a performance level.     Rally training benefits all dogs as it teaches them to move with the handler changing from skills that are stationary such as sit to those skills that are performed in motion.    Rally training goes beyond the sport and produces dogs that show a great ability to showcase their obedience out in public situations.     Rally is offered on a group and private basis.   ENROLL TODAY AND SHOW OFF YOUR DOGS ABILITY TO TAKE OBEDIENCE OUT OF THE CLASSROOM AND ONTO THE STREETS!
