PUPPIES

Puppy classes provide needed socialization as well as the teaching of foundation skills.   Puppies can enroll as young as 8 weeks of age and up to 16 weeks old.    Your puppy will benefit from off lead play, socialization, and the instruction of basic commands such as sit, come, down, wait, go to a mat, target training, and beginning leash walking.   Get started today and learn how to communicate with your puppy to prevent behavior problems and build life long skills.

BEGINNERS

Got an older dog and in need of some basics?  Beginner obedience classes are designed for dogs of any age and there is no upper limit on age.   Old dogs can and do learn very well.   Beginner obedience classes teach many of the same skills as the puppy foundation class but go into more detail.   Dogs that finish this program are very well behaved family pets.    This class will show you how to teach your dog what you want and eliminates all conflict.  Your dog will be taught how to be a willing partner and will easily learn to follow your cues so that you may maintain control in a safe and positive manner.  

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CGC

The Canine Good Citizen Certification is open to all dogs pure bred and mixed and is a program offered by the American Kennel Club (AKC).   This certification is issued to dogs who pass a formal 10 test evaluation of basic obedience and socialization skills.   The Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC) is administered by a certified evaluator.   I have been a CGC evaluator since 2000.    The Canine Good Citizen Program was developed to showcase those owners of dogs that take their pet owning responsibilities seriously and are dedicated to making sure their dog is a well behaved pet both in the home and out in public.   All dogs are capable of this certification and many that complete this program also go on to work as therapy dog teams in schools, hospitals, nursing facilities and more.    Upon completion of the CGC a very attractive certificate is issued to your dog from the American Kennel Club.
